The client had a live music player with an existing user base, but the app was buggy and its design was outdated. It needed to be rebuilt — and the rebuild had to land on users who already depended on the app.

A full rebuild of the app in Flutter, developed from a new Figma design provided by the client and delivered to the existing users. Music streams directly from the user's own cloud storage — Google Drive, Dropbox and OneDrive — with no separate upload step.

I was the main developer on the project and also ran the client meetings, from requirements through delivery.

• Rebuild, not patch. The old app was buggy and its design outdated, so it was rewritten from scratch in Flutter instead of fixing the existing codebase.
• Design-led build. The UI was implemented from the client's new Figma design.
• Three cloud providers in one player. Google Drive, Dropbox and OneDrive all work as streaming sources.
• Shipped to the existing listing. The rebuild replaced the old app for its live user base on Google Play.

The app has 100K+ downloads and 2,120 reviews on Google Play.

A medication reminder is only useful if it fires on time — including when the phone has no signal. The core of the app had to work with no connection at all, while still syncing the user's data whenever a connection is available.

A Flutter app using GetX for state. It covers medicines and dosage schedules, a health journal, sign-in with Firebase Auth and Google Sign-In, push messaging with FCM, in-app purchases through Play Billing and StoreKit, AdMob, and 52 language files including Arabic with a right-to-left layout. Android releases run through Fastlane and GitHub Actions.

• SQLite is the source of truth. The UI reads and writes the local database. Firestore is a sync target, not a dependency, so the app stays fully usable offline.
• Background sync. Local changes sync to Firestore in the background rather than blocking the user on the network.
• Reminders are scheduled on the device. Dose notifications are scheduled locally instead of pushed from a server, so they fire with no network. Scheduling is timezone-aware, so dose times follow the user's local time.
• Backend access is locked to the app. Firebase App Check sits in front of the backend alongside Firebase Auth and Google Sign-In.
• Localisation. 52 language files, with Arabic laid out right-to-left.
• Automated releases. Fastlane and GitHub Actions handle Android builds and releases.

Notes come in three forms: typed, spoken and photographed. The app needed to accept all three and turn them into editable notes, with AI writing tools on top — while keeping model choice and API usage under control after release.

A Flutter app using GetX. Notes can be typed, recorded as voice and transcribed with OpenAI whisper-1, or scanned from images with ML Kit OCR. AI writing tools run on gpt-4o and gpt-4o-mini. Notes are stored in SQLite, sensitive values in secure storage, and the app is monetised with subscriptions and AdMob.

• Model and rate limits in remote config. Which model is used and the rate limits are switched remotely, so both can change without shipping a new build.
• Two GPT tiers. gpt-4o and gpt-4o-mini are both wired in, so cost and quality can be traded off.
• On-device OCR. Image-to-text uses ML Kit text recognition on the device.
• Local storage. Notes live in SQLite. Sensitive values live in secure storage.

Moving files between phones usually means a cable, a cloud upload, or mobile data. The app needed to move files directly between nearby devices with no internet connection.

A Flutter app for peer-to-peer file transfer that works fully offline, with transfers encrypted, developed from a Figma design provided by the client.

I developed the app and ran all the client meetings.

• Flutter packages for connectivity and transfer. Device connection and file sharing are built on Flutter libraries for nearby connectivity and data transfer.
• No internet, no server. Files move directly between devices, so a transfer needs no network connection at all.
• Encrypted transfers. Files are encrypted while they move between devices.
• Design-led build. The UI was implemented from the client's Figma design.
